The firm acts for both landowners and farm tenants on all tenancy related matters.
We provide advice on tenancy options, be it long term agricultural tenancies through to Limited Duration Tenancies (LDTs) and Short Limited Duration Tenancies (SLDTs). We can negotiate terms on your behalf, administer the agreements and liaise with legal advisers to ensure your objectives are met. We can also advise on and implement short term solutions where a change in policy or tenant is about to happen.
Recent instructions have included negotiating heads of terms and working with a legal team to prepare a 15 year LDT, negotiating rent reviews, preparation of tenancy waygoing valuations, preparing records of condition, attendance at and document preparation for arbitration, and negotiating exit packages for tenants.
We have also successfully prepared a number of rental tenders, helping to give new entrants a start on the farming ladder and for established businesses to expand and spread their costs over a larger farmed area.
The sector is under continuing pressure to reform, and providing sound practical and professional advice to landowners and tenants in light of upcoming legislative changes forms a key part of our service to clients.
Wide ranging experience of landlord and tenant issues and the law involved, along with an extensive network of legal adviser contacts, ensures that we can act promptly and deliver an efficient service for our clients.
